Loki is returned to Asgard to face justice, though what precisely that entails is not made clear to SHIELD or the Avengers.

Clint goes on a vacation with a girlfriend, Anna, who has secrets of her own that could have consequences beyond the two of them.

Phil Coulson refuses to die, and the Queen of the Dead is inclined to let his soul go, no matter what the wishes of her paternal relatives.

The rest of the Avengers - and more than a few other interested parties - are just along for the ride.

This began with a plan for a nice, short, Clint/Angrboða story in which Loki shows up and makes life a bit more interesting for the two of them. Some banter, some snark, some drama.

Then I end with a plot bunny via screencap that wants to inhabit the same universe as Clint/Angrboða, and end up with pages of notes that are almost more questions than anything else that cover a much larger set of plot-threads than I intended. I do intend for things to wrap up into a coherent end with most plot-threads resolved, but I make no promises on how long that's going to take. This is the primary series, which will remain in posting order. If anyone wants to read the various stories by character-arc, once I have more than one story per set of characters, I'll make series that are specifically for those character-arcs.

And the children of Loki were monsters, feared by the gods, and imprisoned lest they destroy the world with their hungers.

At least, that's one way of telling it.

"Bed?" he murmurs, loosening his grip enough that she can turn to look at him, to study him for a long moment. "To sleep."
A smile crosses her face, and she leans in for another kiss, chaste and brief. "And I will still be here when you wake up," she murmurs, a promise that loosens something in his chest.
